Ive been streamin video from W2K and WinXP for years. Oooooohhhhh, Apple finally jumped on the bandwagon. I use OS X every day. My laptop is a G4. But Apple's announcement is no big deal. And who the hell would pay for s**tty downloaded video anyway? Get a MCE and you have all you need. Just know your technology and use your brain!
I think the idea is to get people talking about it now so they can sign on other studios to ride this wave of new technology before it becomes passee. The missing component here is Tivo-like features. If they worked in HD/SD recording, this would be the ultimate convergence box. Otherwise, to me, it's a glorified cable box with expensive media content. I'm not compelled to get rid of my MythTV box quite yet.
There are a ton of small Media Centre PCs you can buy, some of which are smaller than the iTV (Remember that one that was on the frontpage a few days ago or so and was the size of a book ?).So, no, this is not a much smarter spin.
Or you could just buy a DVR/TiVo nowHeck, even a MCE PC will do that, But I guess since apple hasnt don it yet, that these concepts must simply not exist yet
Tell you what Apple fan boys and spam pumpers.Lets see, I say lets go try and use this product to record a premium channel tonight....whats that its not out yet, you cant by it? Gee in the 90's this was called vaporwareSlingbox, Snap Stream, Mythtv, XBMC, shall I go on
Unfortunately, Apple will NEVER put a PVR into any of their products because they want to p[aid for the content, you are buying the content from them through the iTunes store, it makes no finacial sense for them to allow you get the content from someone else, that doesn't make them one single cent.

The black/blue menu theme is far from the "prettiest I've ever seen". Looks like something Sony would come up with!Apple: what happened to you?!?
