consumerist.com— An Apple customer was shocked when he bought a Macbook from the London Apple Store for his 11-year old daughter, and the desktop was full of pornographic JPGs.

I'm not saying it's not a big deal. Believe me, it is. Mistakes like that should not happen. This isn't really an Apple issue or Microsoft issue or anything like that. It's a security issue. All I was saying in my original post was that I was not surprised, since I've seen this happen firsthand.
To anyone who dug the parent down:It is BS, read the article! It's a messenger conversation between some blogger and a guy that says, "Me buddy ordered a macbook...".Uh huh, friend of a friend. This article is garbage.. there is no follow up asking in which he speaks to the actual purchaser, no information whatsoever, plus it just reeks of untruth. What are the chances Apple would forget to wipe a drive? What are the chances the refurb is actually used? At this point the "refurbished" macbooks are old stock core duos they have to get rid of since they introduced the core 2 duo macbooks.
@Gerolsteiner:I wish I could say the same about my situation. The people who were assigned this task were either retarded or just lacked attention to details, but needless to say, the job ended up becoming mine and we never had these types of problems again. The problem of hiring retards, however, continues to this day. 2 years of that was enough for me.It's quite sad that this does not come to a shock to certain people, specifically people who have worked at Apple retail stores. Alas :
So it's news because it's an 11-year old girl instead of a boy? Sexist pigs. I'd pay through the nose at that age to have had such a treasure chest, and I'm sure any kid old enough to want porn would too.Porn is fine.
People commented before you, but you repeat something that has been said several times while ignoring the fact that there seems to be no proof to the allegations. As several have already said, it's easy to ask for money to compensate you for... something you conveniently eliminated all proofs of before there were any witnesses."Hey! You killed my cat! I demand that you pay me 100,000$ in damages!""What cat?""Pay! Just pay! Give me money! Now!"And although I've had three Macs and liked them, I'd say the same thing about any situation where someone is accused without proofs - or, more precisely, with proofs that have been conveniently erased by the accuser. You can scream "Fanboy!" all you want, but I think you're mixing the issues.
That's a pretty great service Apple is offering. Usually transferring my porn is the biggest hassle of swapping to a new computer. If the MacBook Pro comes with pre-installed porn I want one!
Have any of you Mac users "ever" gotten home to find the OS was already installed "and" without a Un/password required? Not...Never in 20 years and "over a dozen" new or used macs... This story is lame - the guy is looking for his 10 minutes of fame...
So instead of arguing my comment I just get dugg down. Anyone have anything insightful to say against my previous comment? Seriously, read my percious comment and say what was wrong with it. I critisized the "article" and rightfully so as it has no substance or veritability.

If a Fapbook comes with JPGs, I guess a Fapbook Pro comes with MPGs.
