This is the only reason why I havn't purchased a MacBook. Intel 950? Barf! MBP? No thanks, I know several people who have them and are selling them as we speak... s**tty LCD screens compared to the older G4 Powerbooks.

@PAJK: The UK price includes 17.5 percent VAT while the US price is the pretax price the USD price of 1099 works out to 553.61 GBP. Add 8% for sales tax and you get 597.90 GBP. If you were to add 17.5% VAT to the direct US price, you would get 650.49 GBP.The official price with VAT on the UK site is 700 GBP. Given that my calculations are based on online rates which will differ from the rates Apple would get when moving their money between markets, rates tend to fluctuate between the time they set the prices to now and that it does not include potentially higher tariffs, I'd say the 50GBP difference is really nothing at all.
