The reason people rush to download Apple updates (whether they admit it or not) is because they are hoping that one of the many bugs in Apple's OS will be fixed. I wonder how long it will take for the world to realize that Mac OS X has been buggier than Windows Vista all along (especially on PPC hardware).

Glad I'm not the only one. In my experience apple's enterprise IT has been a complete nightmare. I know this is a pretty bold/broad statement, but unfortunately I don't have time to type up all of my problems here to convince the 1-mac-at-home Apple fans.. (Why should they care? Their 1 or 2 macs at home probably work fine).

It works perfectly.Apple figure out better/cooler ways to do stuff (like the way they changed the working of Stacks from 10.5 to 10.52) and implement it in a free update. And they include security fixes.Manchester United get better players to replace existing players who have gotten older or more injury prone.

so you're telling me Apple won't sell me memory for an eMac from 2004 or a Mini from 2005? doubt it.

actually, Apple is the one confusing the terms. 10.5 literally WILL NOT install from the disc if you have under 512mb, but if you know how to circumvent that - by restoring a disc image, or temporarily upgrading - it WILL run on 256mb. i say "if" because most of Apple's target demographic does not.that is what i mean by an artificial requirement. instead of stopping people from installing their $130 piece of software that WILL work either way, why not just pop up a warning that they RECOMMEND 512mb ??
