appleinsider.com— Adding fuel to rumors of a so-called "netbook" under development inside Apple, Reuters is now citing its own sources in saying the touchscreens ordered by the company measure 10 inches diagonally.

Well, rather than wait for apple to design and build a netbook, I built my own.Dell has 9" Mini's on the cheap which run OSX natively with little to no hacking required. The thing is amazing. I affectionately refer to mine as the MacBook Mini.
Thankyou MrBitch. You've educated me. </sarcasm>iPhone owner since 1.0... Objective-C programmer, owner of Sprikit Software, and iPhone developer.Yes... we're all familiar with the sales-pitch. It's a full OSX install in the same way that my logitec universal remote for my TV runs a full copy of linux.Generally speaking if someone says "OSX" instead of "iPhoneOS" they are refering to Leopard or SnowLeopard with a dock, and finder, et al.Avoid google, and seek human interaction.
@pofke: When submitting apps to the app-store you are presented with a menu for choosing which platforms your application is intended for. Right now the options are IphoneOS, and iPodTouch (and a few version options). It would be easy enough to add a few options in there for 'AppleSlate' or whatever this new 10" product would be called. When writing applications for the iPhone you have access to (and it's STRONGLY pushed by the SDK best practices guidelines) programatic screen dimensions and window resizing routines. Just like on a desktop, when you resize the window, the objects in the window move around and get bigger to adjust. It would be really easy to code an application that would work just as well on an iPhone as it would on a larger screen. But that's the big difference I see. This isn't going to have access to multiple windows at the same time like a desktop OS. It's going to be geared towards full-screen applications like we currently see on the iPhone.
Why does everybody assume the touch screens will be used in a netbook? I think Apple is going to build a touch screen laptop, but it wont be a netbook.

The Nano beats the s**t out of the Atom, and the Atom *is* s**tty. If it weren't for Hyper Threading the Atom would be useless.
