I'm sure I'm stating the obvious here, but no one else has said it; they're probably trying to clear as much stock as possible ready for some updated models (whether that be completely new models, or bumps in spec.)C.
this comment may seem wild but perhaps.. just MAYBE... some people didnt know about this!!? Who cares if its a few weeks old, people who didnt know about it now do and thats all that matters.. old to you, new to them!
Here's a solution...Instead of offering free accessories, get howler monkeys to fling refurbs at people. They won't get sold, but at least it will be entertaining.

shuffle would be nice. but it's only 20 bucks less after the 30 dollar armband is factored in. that's not worth it for me.
