engadget.com — Looks like Apple is about to face its next date in court: a San Diego filing by private citizens Fred Greaves and Dave Gatley calls for a class-action lawsuit, accusing Cupertino of deceptive advertising with regard to the displays on its MacBook and MacBook Pro machines -- specifically alleging Apple's screens aren't nearly as good as they were ad

I am not aware of Apple saying that their laptop screens are higher quality than anything else on the market. The only screen hype that they have is for the cinema displays, and it is obvious that you must do that considering they cost a lot more than most displays. If you are a professional photographer, you are not using a laptop screen to make sure your color balance is correct, you are not even using a consumer grade lcd display. Folks you get what you pay for. Consumer grade screens are perfectly fine for their application. I am using a viewsonic 20" display right now and it is perfectly fine for me, but a pro might say otherwise. Secondly, we are talking about a rather individualized commodity. One display is not the same as the next, if you get a bad one you should definitely complain about it, it doesnt condemn an entire brand though

I don't know why these people like these MacBook Pro Blacks ones? I get to use one today The hinge thing is worst thing ever. rubber coated get dirty fast and can't easily clean it. Then I tried to do a restart and it doesn't want to shutdown or restart I tried a few times. I end up using power button shut it down hard and come back with kernel panic. which work find after I restarted. The laptop doesn't feel good at all. it feel very chincey and cheap. I guess their quality has gone down hill. And then there was some clear substances on the screen that cannot be remove. she don't know where it came from.

I would like to show everyone some pictures of my MBP screen to confirm how bad these are:http://www.flickr.com/photos/8339569@N06/sets/72157600223455835/I'm glad this is happening. I'm doing the repair game right now and so far there hasn't been a decent replacement.
