This Update Sucks. No Blu Ray, Horrible entry level graphics card, No top tier graphics cards, and the price is ridiculous for both models based on perfomance. Also I am not a Windows loving troll because I'm typing this from my Mac Pro (Woodcrest) Apple going to loose me as a fanboy if they don't step it up
This update is rather underwhelming. The base is only a X3520 and tops out at 8GB of RAM?I'm intrigued that the dual-socket Mac Pro now costs $3200. It went from having two E5462s to two E5520s. Thats just under $850 less in the cost of CPUs. ($797 vs $373 at current prices) I guess Apple didn't get as good as a deal as they got from Intel with the Harpertowns.ECC DDR3 is about the same price as DDR2 FB-DIMMs, too. Nehalem motherboards from Tyan and Supermicro aren't expected to be much more expensive either.Though, now the Mac Pro looks like it will be in line with the rest of the industry with regards to dual-socket Xeon workstations. The Harpertown Xeon Mac Pros were one hell of a deal, makes me wish I didn't hold out for the Nehalem ones. I'm eager to see what HP and Sun are going to bring to the table with their dual-socket Nehalem workstations, now.

I wouldn't really say a rumor the night before the release as impressive.
