not much of one. You think the average person is going to be swayed by what they MIGHT read on a site like digg? Most people making decisions about what to buy for their home aren't going to digg.
Yes marketing results in 80% customer satisfaction... in the tech industry! You know they should start teaching this in business schools, you don't need a good product, just put together some smoke and mirrors and your customers will be asking for more of where that came from. Given how easy it is, I am shocked that everyone is not doing this./s
Apple makes things that people want and like. That's why they are beating the recession. Companies that are having issues are not making things that people want.
Flimsy? They are uni-body and made of metal!! Dell, HP, etc are made from plastic. Even my friend who doesn't like Mac gushed over my work Macbook Pro when I brought it home. He couldn't help but touch it and say, "wow, this is pretty nice!" And he calls people who buy Apple "sheep" - even me.Obviously, you have zero argument and just popped off with the first thing you could, talking loud and saying nothing!
"And you can't build a Mac"In today's consumer-driven computer marketplace, that phrase has about as much relevance as saying "And you can't build a Toyota." Who builds their own cars? A vanishingly small percentage of the marketplace. Just like computers. Oh, you might say, thousands of people build their own computers. But that's STILL a vanishingly small percentage of the real marketplace.

Too right. So many miserable, bitter Apple haters on digg.com. Wish I could block them all at once.

@ enantiodromia, RE: " .. nice to finally see some other sysadmins out there explain to the masses why many of us prefer OS X."It's even more amazing to see how many UNIX and Linux users are buying Macs : http://www.grotto11.com/blog/?+1250679600http://al3x.net/2009/08/10/switching-season.html" .. those people who are true technology nerds, open-source buffs, programmers, designers, policy advocates, and people with a "minimalism fetish" (like Alex), Apple is now not only a viable camp, but the default camp. The one you have to consider carefully switching away from."
