What I think is funny about most everyone's comments is they want Apple TV to be MS Media Center. It isn't. It isn't a media server. It wasn't designed to be one. It syncs to a server (iMac, Mac Pro, MacBook, etc.) and streams from other sources. Personally that is how I like my media as well. I don't keep all my movies sitting by my TV. Most are in the closet. Once I get an Apple TV all of them can be ripped and streamed/synced to the Apple TV. This is why it only has a 40 gig HD. I like Apple TV because it does what it was designed to do and it does it VERY well.
AppleTV isn't designed to be a stand alone device, its purely supposed to be a relay from your computer's iTunes library and that's it. So no, its not that surprising that AppleTV only supports podcast that are downloaded on your computer, as that is all its designed to do.
I know that the AppleTV supports VideoPodacasts (you missed the point)The featured article that we're discussing walks the user through reading *Text Feeds*, something I don't really want to do on my TV...also an admittedly "less cool" application for RSS than watching Video/ Podcasts on it, right?
You're right. Thank god for the block feature you arrogant ass. One comment and you block me? Can't wait to see you when you grow up. Oh wait, that won't happen since I just blocked you.
Can't blame people for having fun with a new MacOS X based toy though, can ya? You realize that hackers have put Linux on an iPod, right? Not sure if criticism of such activity quite works. Half the time, its not for any other reason than to prove it can be done. Other times, like with XBMC, extending a platform eventually yields highly desireable results. Who knows?
Well, it does support the 720p HD standard if that is what you're looking for. The reason it doesn't support 1080p/i is probably because it would be impossible to stream such gigantic files over Wifi, and I dunno if it actually got the processor power to play such movies at all.
This is real cool plugin. But how about hacking iTunes and putting an RSS reader in there and have the AppleTV sync the RSS feeds from iTunes instead of installing a plugin on the AppleTV?

I'd buy an Apple TV in a second if I actually had an HDTV. I think this is what's going to get me to finally take the plunge into the HDTV world.
