Jacenat..Please tell a four year old that there is no stigma attached to rape when your neighbors talk about virginity likes it's the golden ticket to heaven.Please tell the 14 yr old that was raped by her dad that it's not stigmatizing when the kids tease her about it because a school teacher "slips" up and says something in a child's reach.Tell that to the numerous women and children that have KILLED themselves out of SHAME for being raped rather than tell mom and dad.Tell that to all the children that have been cast out from pregnancy out of rape.You ignorance is blinding to even the intelligent.

People who are all worried about this device getting abused need to get off their soap boxes, its a deterrent and one that is probably not as horrible as a .45 slug to the chest of the rapist bastard. Also, why is everyone concerned about what would happen to the woman, how able would a man be to act with a shredded c**k? I call that a disabling injury and the woman could flee.

i think this is a fabulous invention and i can see it doing a lot of good. my concern however is that rape is about power not sex.. the man commiting the crime is already using violence to ensure submission.. what will he do to her if he finds this has happened to her.. i can only hope that the pain will not be overcome by the adrenaline. otherwise all we're going to end up with is dead victims instead of ones who can heal and press charges or whatever they do in south africa.. if anything.

I'm a man and I dont see what the problem is. Its not about hating the majority of men who are not rapists . It's legitimate self defense especially when one considers that rape passing aids to the victim amounts to murder and torture. The one issue I would have is if such a device draws blood from the penis then it could increase the chances of transmission of aids but in such a situation I would be in favor of empowering the victim and giving the victim choices over her body.

Of course there is the legitimate fear for a man that some crazy casual encounter might be wearing one of those devices with bad intentions but the worlds a dangerous place anyway and its ultimately your own responsibility to protect yourself whether male or female.
