Actually, as astonishing as this is to a rational person like you or me, the comment I'm quoting is in the *original* Scientology promo. I know... I know... It's basically beyond comprehension which is why you would naturally assume that such an unspeakably nonsense statement like "Whatever is true for you is true for you" would simply have to be parody. You'd reasonably think no one would be so stupid as to actually *believe* such tripe, but (brace yourself) those words are from the unedited original portion of the video that Scientology actually chose to include. It is in the promo exactly that way on their official YouTube channel right now. It's truly hard to even begin to come up with a way to talk to people like that isn't it? When someone is so astonishingly far gone that they have integrated the idea that somehow personal feelings can override and/or define objective truth you just have to stare at them in stunned silence for awhile. It's like they've been lobotomized or something and only the "reasoning skills" lobe of the brain was taken. They walk, they talk, they seem to present themselves as normal people, but their capacity for real thought has been ripped from their brain somehow.
I'm not saying they were excusable actions. I'm saying your sentiments of "this is not how Anonymous should be conducting himself" are misdirected. That is all. I must assume you're not familiar with the climate currently existing between Anonymous and the various CoS around the world. Even the most well behaved and gracious cells, who show up and converse politely with Scientologists when they see them, are considered "terrorists" by the simple virtue of being critical of the CoS. This doesn't leave them well disposed to any "high ground" of any sort. So to them, Tommy and Anonymous ARE one-and-the-same, because ANYONE who is critical of the CoS is equally considered a Suppressive Person by Scientologists, as this is what they're told to believe. Basically, there's no point in disabusing them of the notion that Tommy is Anonymous--not that SFAnon would care to do so anyway. (Anyway, he's highly visible and known to the members of that particular CoS org. By definition, not anonymous.)And even if that WEREN'T the case, it's as much his right to be there as ours, and we're not going to tell him to GTFO just because we can be associated. We don't govern each other within Anonymous--the most we might do is advise certain behavior of each other, and there's no guarantee that everyone will play along. That's just part and parcel of a movement like Anonymous, where we're organized but not an /organization/. Long explanation short--we barely keep each other in check. We certainly have no business telling an individual citizen what to do.For your information, Tommy certainly does use his first hand experiences to convey the message, coherently and civilly. He's given interviews and keeps interested viewers updated on his life post-CoS-blowing via his Youtube posts. THIS video was NOT meant to provide testament to the cause or an admirable method of getting it across--it was meant to provide some coverage of an event that people in Anonymous were very interested in, because it involved some of our own, and he happened to be there to cover the aftermath. After which he returned to doing his own thing, independent of Anon from the looks of it.
The difference is that the things you speak of are attributable to PEOPLE of faith. The things that Anonymous protests are actually directly BUILT into the structure of Scientology as an organization. We couldn't protest the things you speak of because that actually WOULD be bigotry (and besides which, really awkward when so many of Anonymous are Christian, or Muslim, or Jewish, or Buddhist, or Hindu, or atheist, or agnostic, etc). But protesting the policies? That's doable. What I love about that argument, "Why don't you guys protest something [else/more important/etc]?" is how WELL it highlights why there's a need for people like Anonymous to continue protesting the CoS. It's not yet even understood by the wider public why, or what, Anonymous is actually protesting against. Why are we protesting? Because you still even need to ask that question.
Plenty of the general public can agree that there as aspects of our government that are f**ked up. They don't even need protesters for this to be acknowledged.Anonymous protests because people like you still even need to ask WHY they're doing it.

You need to do some research before you talk more about this subject.
