Years ago, a hippo at Longleat (www.longleat.co.uk) adopted one of the seal lions as its pet. I remember my grandmother sending me articles about it.I missed the documentary about the lioness; it would be really interesting to find out if something did indeed happen in her past. It's always amazing to see these acts of compassion in other animals. Many humans aren't even capable of caring for another species.
I wish my dogs got along as well as these wonderful, wild creatures! We adopted our 5th dog a couple years ago and he still can't get along with the other males.Anyway, these adoption cases are fascinating. We humans can learn a thing or two from them.
