I 've used them in the past...they were fantastic.Sure their plans are a little weaker than some other VPS's (which is why I needed to switch) but for general linux serving for personal use and even moderate duty stuff, they are fantastic.)Oh, and their control panel is to die for.Not that this has anything to do with the main story.

Don't bother with this, I requested a shell account, and received no reply. I went on IRC and asked if they were still available and sure enough they are but you have to have an "approved" reason to get one. I just wanted to be able to ping my servers from a remote location every few hours and page me if they were down. Turns out that is not a good reason. I wish they were up front with the whole "you must be worthy" attitude.

Same problem here, only 21, 80 and 443 is open where I work. Too bad this service got digg'ed into oblivion because I'd really like an account. Anyone else who knows of a shell provider that will allow irc and that have ssh listen on one of the above ports?

It beats cheap hosting, that's right.But it doesn't beat <a class="user" href="http://jaguar.garofil.be">http://jaguar.garofil.be</a> . This one is also free but allows network programs (unlike anapnea)
