than Jan 8 article on hidefdigest speaks of HD DVD announcing 175,000 sold that week. Certainly that includes the 360 player, they wouldn't announce a lower number than they could.

@HappyScrappy:Enthusiasts are updating their library, selling of their dvd:s and getting blu-ray instead. They generally are also buy a lot of them...PS3 is the cheapest blu-ray player after all so the install base among high-def movie enthusiasts is gonna be high. I myself will get it for the connectivity to the psp and playing old ps2 and ps1 games as well as whatever good new games pops up.

SGagnon:NPD is an estimate. They don't talk to every store, but they adjust the figures for the retailers they don't talk to. It's like taking a poll, you talk to a representative sample and then adjust the figures to cover the population.So whether they talked to Wal-Mart or not last year, the figures should be adjusted to include units sold at Wal-Mart, as they include all retail outlets.

You played the old demo... unless you have the PS3 and downloaded the updated one. I have one and I played it! It's one reason to own a PS3.
