examiner.com — If you abide by the state's restrictive firearms laws and this passes, you'll either need to be able to pony up for coverage, or lose the means to defend yourself and your loved ones in your own home. If you can't afford it, too bad.

Technically, all insurance policies increase risk. In that once you are insured you are statistically more likely to engage in risky behavior becuase you know you will be covered if injured. It's known as moral hazard. In this case, having insurance may cause more violence/damage due to firearm misuse.

I agree, but when it comes to guns and gun ownership is where your point falls apart and this whole scheme is a bunch of crap. No one, that is a lawful gun owner, is going to commit gun violence because they know they have some sort of gun insurance, not going to happen.

more propaganda. europe has FAR less gun violence with very strong gun control. only a nitwit can't figure out that more guns = more gun violence.

It's just a government-mandated gift to insurance companies. Insurance should be optional for firearms.
