arstechnica.com — One of the biggest problems early in the PS3's life span was that games being ported to the platform from the Xbox 360 wound up being handicapped in the process. This led to a series of shoddy ports for multi-platform titles that still hasn't entirely dissipated. As a result, more companies have begun to use the PS3 as the lead development platform

People are too picky these days. I had no problem with skate 1 on ps3. I'm sure the 360 version was better, but I don't give a f**k.

well then.....download and play the beta. it is not "crippled." rumors have said it might not look AS good as the PC/360 versions (a few textures may be low res), but it looks FINE to me. And more importantly has a great framerate. Also runs at 1080p. So, worst case scenario.... they simply use high rez textures and let yhou only upscale to 720p like most games that use unreal engine.but i played through the demo and thought it was a perfect port. it wasn't until i went on digg that i started reading how it was "crippled."Now Orange Box.... I didn't have to read anything to know that port had serious problems.

well I own the game and I'm not really that picky when it comes to details about games but the frame rate issues for the ps3 version were annoying slot of the time. The game shouldn't hve been released with such an issue when the other version was alot smoother.

It never got bad enough that I couldn't play though. Sure the 360's framerate was better, but at least it was still playable. As long as its at least ~12fps I can still play just fine. Obviously not optimal, but I don't complain. Now, what they should have done was patch it. I don't see why they couldn't do that.
