Tea Party folks be on guard and hold the GOP and any Candidates accountable as many seem to be jumping aboard the Tea Party express.Ex.GOP Chairman Steele is desperate to reenergize the GOP and while he may propose that the common ground is enough for teapartiers to join in many aren't buying it.I for one see the tea party and the "upheaval" as the fruit of the Ron Paul campaign. We want Constitutional govt. that is limited and spending less, A Lot Less. I also see little indications that the GOP is moving in any substantial way to towards its Libertarian roots of smaller govt, and non-intervention. I do not see Republicans joining ranks with Ron Paul other than the watered down version of his 'Audit the Fed' bill which I believe Paul himself will not voter for.Seems like there is an awfull lot of interest in the Tea Party from Palin to Farrah to Steele. Is this movement being Co-Opted? I'm sure some would love to have the support and the Votes of Tea Party Conservatives. Though the movement is having an effect, more strongly in some cases, the danger is that it will get watered down and become useless.
There are some good reasons why New Yorkers should be discontented The income and property taxes are some of the highest in America, the state has a massive deficit, and yet the value of services received is no better than many low tax states. For example, NAEP test scores show 8th graders to be 20th in the country for Reading, 32nd in Math and 24th in Writing. This is the value purchased for the second highest tax burden in the nation?
Pretty sure there's one thing we can all agree on, it transcends party affiliation, race, religion and culture: Something's rotten in Washington and indeed, the world. Multinational corporations and the military-industrial complex are destroying us and will continue to divide and conquer until we are all slaves (well, more so than we already are). It's time to take arms against it and take our world back. It starts with awareness. Spread knowledge, spread discontent and get angry as hell because the s**t needs to hit the fan. We're too close to greatness through our technology to allow our world to be run into the ground... I could think of no worse crime against humanity than to squander such great potential. Do it for the kids, start running your mouth and get involved. Before I get the inevitable dumbs**t saying "hurr, ur just a stoopit digger ur a do nothin", I email my congressmen and call regularly. I have signed letters by McCain, Jon Kyl and Dennis Kucinich (my favorite) so lock it up and get busy, baby.
Way to be incredibly on-message and incredibly vague at the exact same time... not even any links to "non-partisan" websites...Tell me, were you writing these comments during the Bush presidency?
Because I live in Arizona and want him to know I'm local and paying attention to his shenanigans... like the bulls**t tele-com bill he tried (is trying still?) to push on us, despite the fact he knows nothing of the internet. Some of the things I do may be considered "a complete waste of time" by some but they give me peace of mind. I'll be able to look back and say, "I was out there. I went to that protest. I wrote/called/emailed that assh**e. I gave a f**k."
