As I read this, I couldn't help but ponder a few question:#1 Could we face famine in America?#2 Can the Chicken-Little Media be trusted to report accurately?#3 Will the public distrust of the Chicken-Little Media make things worse?The media thrives on panic and disaster. They love to create problems where little or no problem actually exists. If people are hoarding food, they are doing so because the media has caused them to panic. But how do we know if this media-panic food shortage is real or highly exaggerated.For example: Where is the bird flu "pandemic"? - What happened to the hurricane that was supposed to hit Phoenix, AZ in 1997? - How many planes fell out of the sky on Dec 31st, 2000 or Dece 31st, 2001? ---- And on and on it goes with the panic-inciting media.Can the Chicken-Little Media be trusted at all????????

two words come to mind reading this: horse-s**t.Americans already pay exaggerated food cost, not because of scarcity, but rather shortage as a price control. The damn federal government since FDR makes sure that cheaper goods ,such as rice, don't come in and force our farmers to think of innovative ways to deal cheaper. As of 2002, we payed around 2 billion in exaggerated rice prices alone. So what if prices are going up; that doesn't equal price gouging. Maybe the asian rice farmers are having to spend more money because of a drought, hurricane, whatever. Are we supposed to screw them over by not paying asking price? This whole story is alarmist B.S. Things will be back to normal soon, and then they'll have to find something else to bitch about.
