us.mcafee.com — "A recent survey commissioned by McAfee found that Americans waste significant amounts of their valuable time dealing with and deleting spam." - I don't know about 40 minutes but nothing I have more than filtering that crap...

I never delete spam. Gmail told me there is no reason to ever delete email now that I have over 2G of space.

Wow, I spend probably a total of 15 seconds a week.

I spend maybe 3 minutes a week reportings a few of the emails that end up in my Gmail spam folder as phishing attacks. Then I don't see them again for a while.

Get a Gmail account .. invite yourself twice, make accounts.myname@gmail, temp.myname@gmail and forward both to your main account. Set up a filter to label all mail addressed TO these accounts with either Accounts or Temp. Gmail lets you choose an account to "compose with" so when you sign up for something use accounts, when it's iffy use temp. Never tell anyone except for personal friends and business contacts your main address, and let G-mails spam filter handle the bots. One click on the Temp label lets you delete all mail there, one click on the accounts label lets you see every service related e-mail. 0 spam.

How many hours a week do Americans delete phishing mail? Or do phish mail come under the "spam" bracket? Plus, how many Americans a week are dumb enough to fall victim to phishing attacks, thats more to the point, in my humble opinion. Discuss.
