Sadly, this represents what many churches are actually doing. However, can these churches continue to be called Christian when they no longer do anything "distinctively" Christian?
Meh, this is the sort of crap humanity has had to deal with throughout history. Alcoholism and drug use? Standard in almost any part of the world and any part of history. Poor and hungry? Hey some cultures used them as sport, others just threw them in jail for being poor until they could buy their way out. Abused wives? Women only got to vote last century, wife abuse didn't exist because it wasn't abuse back then, it was "appropriate discipline." Nowadays we're starting to actually try and DO something about all the worse elements of our nature and so it's thrown into the light and exposed for everyone. Teenage suicide is probably about the only really new thing on there, and yeah, it is extremely tragic. I suspect it's just due to a heightened realization that we've always sucked and always will and the overwhelming despair that follows that.
We think happy endings are cheesy. That's why we aren't getting one.How can things go well if no one wants them to?Apparently we only like the bad guys. That's why we have let them lead.

Why did this comment go to the top if I replied after them? Now the comment doesn't make any sense.
