On a more serious note....and this is the type of creativity via my schizoid personality that will land me some chicks....let's break down how this deal reveals microsoft's plans for the zune.CNBC reported that the xbox 360 will have over 10 million units sold by the end of this year...compared to 2 million at the most for PS3. Imagine next year when microsoft start slashing price on the 360...to 199. They would continue to dominate the console market. Then they start bundling the zune and 1 yr of free music subscriptions..say, 360+zune 4 $400. Tens of millions of kids will buy the standalone while others will buy the bundle. Slowly the zune gains a foothold. the zune gen 2 will probably have xbox games, video wifi sharing, wifi downloading and a whole lot of other neat crap. The xbox and the zune become part of most kid's gadget wishlist. as for the iPod? yippie...a bigger screen.
hey you guys, i have a plan! We should all keep this on the "D-L," that way we will have a better chance of snagging one of these super-neato 360's! Cool huh? And even though this has been the top story on about 20 gaming and tech sites, if we have faith, maybe everyone will forget. Or maybe, just maybe, people will forget about this "kickin" deal in the 7 days that are left. You all need to just shut up. EVERYONE knows. OK? Just thought I'd let you know.p.s.- I'll be one of the sorry ass 10,000 trying to get one of these on thanksgiving.
I had three laptops, on three different wi-fi networks (mine & two neighbors who's are open), attempting to get into amazon. All 3 hung & hung... & hung until 3 minutes after 2:00 EST when I too was alerted that all were sold out. Bogus.I'll buy a 360 this holiday season, just not from Amazon!
Amazon doesn't post contact information but this guy has information on how to get ahold of them on his website: http://clicheideas.com/amazon.htmSure this was just a publicity stunt to get people to come to Amazon.com, but it is kind of lame that they still have plenty of Core systems to sell you at full price.

I work for an ISP and we are sitting on multiple oc48's. :-p I'm just gonna turn around and sell this one anyways when the stores are all out of them.

anyone know the amazon "contact us" email address? Not that I expect a response but I at least want them to know how ridiculous this whole thing was.

You can all bid on my PS3 if your feeling shafted. http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-Playstation-3-PS3-60GB-Premium-Video-Game-System_W0QQitemZ220051420060QQihZ012QQcategoryZ62054QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Just before you go relying on them as a source for a gift, take a read at this related DIGG: http://digg.com/tech_news/Amazon_com_Father_s_Day_Horror_Story/.
