I read two upbeat medical stories today. One was about this breakthrough against Alzheimers and the other was the breakthrough in the fight against HIV -- http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/07/08071 ... .f**k the TV show - These researchers are the real Heroes.

do you even know what Alzheimer's is? One, you didn't spell it right, and two, it's not a disease that directly causes death. seriously

Thanks for your suggestion. At this point, I'm willing to try anything. I have to see if his doctor has heard of this before.

Yes, yet another hack gets his 15 minutes of fame until everyone realizes that the dataset was a complete crock. This happens way too often with diseases like Alzheimer's. I wonder if he was also a test subject?

My mother lived 10 years with this horrible disease. I keep up with the research on a weekly basis, and have yet to see any breakthrough that has made a significant change on how it is treated. Unless you have been a care giver for someone who has had, or presently has Alzheimer's you have no idea how terrible it is. I encourage all to support this cause in every possible way.

There's a new study or research data coming out every now and then, but with all those researches no real cure has been found so far yet, and more and more elderly are being diagnosed with such terrible disease in these latest times. Personally, all my hopes lie in stem cell therapies, however controversial they might be, and the sooner they will be made available for everyone, the better it will be for all our aging dear ones. Having a mother in the early stage of this damned illness, I know well how unbearable is the pain of watching a beloved one slowly deteriorate.http://www.alzheimerdiseaseinfo.com
