reason.com — Don't believe Obama's rhetorical hype... Ignoring the substantive ideas of the ideological opposition is not, in and of itself, new for presidents or politicians. But Obama's fondness for creating imaginary consensus and offering false choices to the American people has been something to behold.

Of course your "57%" depends on the question. From Rasmussen, Oct 2009:"The second question asked about the creation of a public option if it encouraged companies to drop private health insurance coverage for their workers. Given that possibility, support for the public option falls to 29%, and opposition rises to 58%."And everyone knows that's the plan. Hell, Obama and other Democrats keep saying so, in code of course. Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.

...and if this health carebill is so urgent...why doesn't it kick in immediately? No one ever answers that. Even the typical libs who are always screaming about people dying in the street every day....

The only one with a chance is Gary Johnson. Palin & Jindal are borrow & spend neocons. A conservative does NOT go into debt over a hockey rink, ok?? A conservative expects greedy capitalists who want to sell tickets to idiotic hockey moms & their families to pay for building their OWN stadiums, without tax money. I know, it's a radical concept, but Republicans had better get it if you don't want 4 more Democrat years. I *WILL* vote "f**k you" again if the Republicans put up 2 more statists. Count on it.And yes, that means abject, tail between the legs retreat when it comes to ANY cannabis issue, from hemp for fiber to medical pot. "Retreat" is an ugly word for some, but we still make tanks with a reverse gear. Statist Republicans lose on that issue here on Digg for a reason, and as they die out my side WILL win on the issue. IOW...Fold that s**tty hand & quit caring, you dumbf**ks. The Democrats loved gun control bulls**t just as much as Republicans love your corrupting, tax & spend drugwar, but they backed off when they started losing elections...Learn from it.

I think they actually DID just do the "printing money" thing. This picture:http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/graph/?chart_ ...paints 1000 very sad words. The reason there's still talk of 'deflation' is that banks aren't lending, so the money's just sitting there. But eventually, that money will emerge, with inflation like we've never seen in the USA, if my guess is right.

The constitution is a living document and was designed to change/evolve to meet the needs of it's people. If you disagree then you deny our history.

You're in luck, as I can explain it to you. As you say, the Democrats have the White House and both Houses of Congress locked up.But the things they're working to pass are unpopular. Americans don't want this health care bill. And the more they find out the more they hate it.Democrats know this. They're rightly afraid that if they are the only ones who vote for it they'll be voted out. So they're trying to get some Republicans to vote for it.
