bbc.co.uk — A skydiver from Jersey in the British Channel Islands fell over two miles to the ground during a routine skydive after both parachutes failed. He survived with only a punctured lung and broken ankle. He fell on to a blackberry bush (I nearly put the title as Bush Saves the Day but changed my mind).

And who dares deny creationist evolution? (sorry, i cant believe in just one, its cooler to say too) No one can! Humans have been evolving (by the grace of God) and this is proof of it! In a few more decades we'll all be jumping out of aircrafts and landing on bushes because humans (specially adrenaline junkies) can do anything now days, and why? because we've come a long way from Joe Caveman.

The percentage of him living in that situation is actually quite high.. One of the things you're taught when you dive like that is if your chutes fail to open, aim to land in some heavily wooded areas, or something with lots of foliage.. or snow.Like explained in this case, whatever you land on will absorb your impact and as long as you don't slam your head on something or have a rib puncture your lungs or heart, your chances of coming out alive are quite high. Paralyzed or some other serious complication? Probably. But you'll be alive.Depending on what outcome you have, it might be best to just bite it. I'd hate to live the rest of my life a vegetable *shudder* - unfortunately you can't really take that chance while falling though

@erikt311: It doesn't make you fell better to know that if you die in a horrible accident they'll know who to blame, Oh well... ;)Nah, just look forward to the experience, it'll be even better than you think. And remember that it's never the rookies that get into accidents (other than a broken ankle due to a botched landing), it's always experienced skydivers because after 200-300 jumps they start to take chances.
