variety.com— Twentieth Century Fox is resuscitating its Alien franchise. The studio has hired Jon Spaihts to write a prequel that has Ridley Scott attached to return as director.

FTA: "The crew discovers too late that the signal generated by an empty ship was meant to warn them"I'm pretty disappointed as this plot was covered by Alien, which can never ever be made any more awesome even with new radical special effects. I'm also disappointed that this movie is supposed to be a prequeI to Alien, this movie will be the precedent to evil corporations being blah blah evil corporations blah blah sending people to the surface blah blah coming back onboard with Alien attached blah blah alien bursts from chest blah blah ... have I seen this movie before?Hopefully the movie will explain why the big alien creature's ribs where bent outwards ... it was either an alien bursting out or an exploding grenade ...
AvP2 was one of the biggest let downs ever. AvP1 had a lot of incredible moments (also a lot of stupid ones though). I was hoping they would take the essence of the best moments from AvP1, and just turn all of AvP2 into that. No, instead they decided to turn it into a lame ass horror movie. I was so pissed. But yea, a non-human AvP with no words would actually just be awesome. Maybe just a few Predator-Predator subtitled conversations but thats it.
Well, they did manage to destroy most of the characters, as they tend to do, but in the four movies there's always the core group/person that gets away and beats them in the final showdown. I guess in Alien3 it was a tie.
