I find it interesting that Alcohol Soft would charge for 52% in the first place. I have my suspicions it was based on daemon tools before they changed drivers (and added that damned Windows Service). Alcohol 120% v1.9.2 uses the a347scsi drivers. Hmm, 347. Perhaps from Daemon Tools 3.47? Anyway, yes, Daemon Tools 4 has adware bundled, but it's not like it's an all or nothing situation.
DT used to accept Paypal donations as their primary source of income (maybe they still do) but people obviously weren't contributing enough. You'd think their primary audience wasn't accustomed to paying for software or something.

Thund3rstruck got to agree with you there. Windows is missing a lot of useful features. Alcohol 120% doesn't crash and supports defective by design disks. Loading an image from the hard drive is fast. The CD shuffle and start/stop file reads take too much time. Newer games are gigabytes of data, CD/DVD drives are noisy. I would like to see the ability to use your image format in linux and add mkisof abilities in windows. (not going to hold my breath on either of those.) 120% is worth the money. If only game developers would quit punishing all of us for a handful of teenage pirates. - sigh.

Yay. My favourite emulation software is now freeware. More user friendly than Daemon Tools.
