Now that I submitted this, we hear today (September 23) that Osama bin Laden might be dead already, and have been dead for a month. That suggests that Al-Qa'ida now has new leadership. Would al-Zawahiri want to prove himself worthy by pulling off a big operation? What do you think?

You dolt, you may win an election over in your country because you don't want to stand against terrorism, but it will not change the danger. You are emboldening this movement, it's not a country, it's an idea that spreads with the help of your self hating liberalism.Don't forget how your kind won the election in Spain, somehow I doubt conspiracy theorists will blame democrats for the next terrorist attack that sill frighten/terrorise the american people into voting democrat. The fact is that al-Qaeda does have a history of issuing warnings before perpetrating an attack. They mean exactly what they say. They also go back and attack the same targets repeatedly. Thus, it would behoove anyone with a sense of self-preservation to avoid Washington, DC and NYC. It would also make sense to avoid major port cities, because OBL owns a considerable number of freighters and our port security is inadequate.
