It will be available in all of Europe for free via digital satellite reception on Astra. I'm curious. Somehow I think they will tone down their anti american language to sound more credible. But I believe they won't be more or less credible than any of the other news channels.Anyone saw 'Control Room'? The US marine featured in the documentary who was a press office for the US central command in 2003 will be one of their on-air personalities.

You don't even know anything about al-jazeera. The only thing you know about al-jazeera is what another news channel teaches you. But at the same time, most of the news being given to us during the Iraqi invasion by OUR news sources was about how cool the M1A1 Abrams tank is and how awesome our targeting capabilities are.And you probably didn't even realize that bulls**t while you were watching.

I don't care what slant it has..it's always nice, in any case, to have information from more than one course and make judgements yourself on what you believe.

It will be nice to actually see a different point of view. Link TV is another good non profit news organization. It will be interesting to see if the big cable companies will carry this one I'll have my figures crossed.

I watched a little Al Jazeera English today morning, and was pleasantly surprised. I expected it to cover mostly Middle East news, and when I started watching it that was what was on. However, it was talking about the Qassam rockets that landed in Sderot in Israel that claimed a life, and it showed the fear and anger on the Israeli side. It did not counterbalance that with reporting on the death caused by Israel previously and how this is a reaction to bigger, bloodier Israeli incursions into Gaza. It did mention that, but didn't show graphic images to make you empathize with the Palestinian side.It then moved on to discuss the natives in Brazil, who have some of the highest suicide rates in the world, and then the presidential election in the D. R. Congo, and then moved on to a special about Taiwan and the large demonstration they had recently. They even brought two Taiwanese representatives from two parties and had a debate with them. This is when I had to leave the house to go to work, but overall I'm impressed with the professionalism and objectivity shown by the channel. They do, after all, have a lot to prove, and they have a reputation to overcome (in the West at least), and I must say they're pulling it off with flair.

I have spent the last few days reading blogs on this site and have found, that when you say anything negative about Muslims, then you are an idiot a bigot or several other profound words, what we might see as anti American, they will see as non bias, truthful, there can be no debate when denial is a key element.
