Wow, I knew there were a lot of airplanes flying each day, but not 15k+. Even with each plane 75% full, thats still....well, that's a bunch of people. Not a good picture for conservationists =/

I thought the A in APOD stood for astronomy. What does this have to do with the study of the stars and cosmos? Maybe APOD stands for Airplane Picture of the Day!
