I just ignored him. He is one of the collaborators that want to blame Bush for taking the steps to confront the islamofacist. All they can do is yell Bush is not smart enough.Yet the records prove he is smarter than Gore or Kerry and he has kicked there butts at every turn and every election.

Worked pretty well on Japan and Germany.Sorry for joining in so late in the game, was out of town and got back late....it wasn't the scared routine that stopped that war. Consider Britan vs Germany 1939 - 1941, folks were scared during the blitz but they didnt knuckle under. And we bombed Germany darn near back to the stone age (I've been to Berlin - Teufelsberg (sp?) and a layer of rubble just below the grass.) Matter of fact it was that, bombing them until their war-machine was on the ropes and then putting boots on the ground and taking it inch by bloody inch. When done, we occupied the country along with the British throughout the 50's. (and in the case of Berlin - add the French and until 1989 - I've got the European/Berlin occupation medal as a reminder of my stay there) When we were done the Germans didn't have anyone coming in to keep a large insurgency going. There were terrorists and resistance...1946-1950s was the werewolf brigades after them it was the communist supported terrorist groups like Bader-Mienhoff...but, the point is we had to go in kick ass, take names and then sit on them for a long time before things turned around.

For Harumph, you wrote in part: war, especially war against a faceless and stateless enemy requires great cleverness and the ability to grasp nuance.Whether someone outthere can do a better job than George W. is debatable...unfortunately we've not been shown one from any of our political members. If you argue against the war front in Iraq, please remember that this is the same fella who for over 10 years played the violations/sanctions game with the UN and violated the terms of the peace treaty with the US/UN repeatedly. The evidence, much of what seems to have been covered up by MSM is slowly coming out or, in other cases, been out there staring us in the face for some time, supporting the multiple reasons for opening that front. But the point you raised of this being a stateless enemy is pertinent. There is no particular nation but rather Dar al Islam (the world of Islam) which is conducting these attacks against us and others. From the Abu Sayaf Group and the Moro Liberation Front in the Philippines, to Indonesia's attacks in East Timor, to the continuing attacks in Thailand, the genocide in Somalia, the riots in France, the killing of Theo van Gogh to 9-11 and more. We didn't start these attacks, they did. Indeed their comments about the ancient crusaders that seem to have so terrified them were in those days also instigated by them because of their invasion and attacks in Spain, France the Balkans etc. I really need to make sure I review some old European history again, maybe, like the Popes comments, I can throw them into a hissy fit.

"Harumph is a clown to be ignored or ridiculed for the benefit of others."There are lots of viewpoints, and information out in the world. If I were you all, try and sit back and read a little more about the world in which we live. You will find that the United States has systematically altered the world governments for its own purposes. I am not saying it was all bad, I am just saying it is a fact. Take a look at Google and look up "operation ajax", in which we overthrew the democratically elected leader. Come on, there are several more examples of the US led by the CIA which overthrows governments. It is usually because we want a military presence there, or in the case of Iran, we wanted to get control of the oil fields back. Its not about nukes, its about oil, it always has been, and it always will be. The other lovely thing which the fall of Iran gave us, was the modern insurgency of the Islamic Radicals. They are not "fascist" as they hold no corporate ties. They are terrorist radicals trained by the intelligence agencies like the ISI in Afghanistan, the CIA and others. Of course now that we have decided to attach their homeland, of course they are going to fight back, wouldn't you?If we really wanted to catch those responsible for 9-11, all we had to do was open an investigation a week after the attacks, attack the groups in Pakistan and some limited groups in Afghanistan. There may have even been some people in Iraq, but to invade and decimate the entire country, I don't think so. No good can come of this. What we needed was small insurgency teams, comprised of our best warriors. We should have immediately stopped supporting the ISI and Pakistan governments, the Taliban, and created sanctions until they coughed up all the Al-Queda members. We should have listened to John Oneill's report, instead of sweeping it under the carpet. How about Sibel Edmonds, and the other whistle blowers. Everyone complains that nobody from government ever comes forward out of a conspiracy, then point yourself towards <a class="user" href="http://www.justacitizen.com">http://www.justacitizen.com</a> and read it.Further, how can you discount the numerous publications from fascist organizations like the PNAC? They clearly lay out how America needs to dominate the world. The only problem was that the American people would be slow to change unless there was some catalyzing event like a "New Pearl Harbor". Wow, and then a year later it happened. There are more documents being found which explains our foreign policy and how our last couple administrations were trying hard to invade Iraq and Iran to destabilize the region. One last point, read "Gulliver's Trevails" <a class="user" href="http://www.au.af.mil/au/2025/monographs/A-F/a-f-3.htm">http://www.au.af.mil/au/2025/monographs/A-F/a-f-3.htm</a> which outlines Nationalism and Globalization. This is off the Air Force website people. I guess Arundhati Roy wasn't that far off with her speech "Come September" now was she?

How can you deny Iran their inconsequential nuclear program when all they want to do is power up a few light bulbs?p.s. The U.N. has been owned by a cave man! Guess who has to save them again.

"All you need to know is that *religion and politics aside*, Ahmadinejad would be above Bush... way above"Again, you dodged my question, who you put at the top of the list? This is so typical of the libs. They criticize but don't bring solutions to the discussion. It's all about whimpering. All flash an no bang.
