torrentfreak.com — After taking control of Shareaza.com, imposters trying to pass themselves off as an open-source dev team have stepped up their action to destroy the GNU GPL licensed project. In an audacious move, lawyers representing Discordia Ltd have filed to register the ?Shareaza? trademark at the US Patent Office.

No one really knows if it was sold or not. The original owner of the .com left the community some years ago and never transfered the domain over to the owners of the project. So either the domain was never renewed or he sold it (So I've read on the forums at shareaza). But I agree with Letierri, thats probably the most logical reason why the domain magically changed.

Shareaza does NOT stop seeding unless you set the option for that (with optional share ratio threshold) or manually stop seeding a file.

Are we actually comparing file sharing services to the Holocaust? Awesome!
