boingboing.net — BoingBoing: "'I'm not sure how new this is, but it's the first time I've noticed. In this Charlie Rose Show clip on video.google.com, Google ads are built into the stream, and appear a slightly different color from the rest of the buffered content."

I don't think having a short ad *at the end* of the video is excessive. Also, if you didn't know that ads were coming you were deluding yourself. It costs tons of money to run a site like that, and they need to find some way to turn a profit to be able to cut a deal with copyright owners, because without their content the site will be worthless.

If this is true (loaded the clip; not noticing anything) - I guess I just won't use Google Video anymore. Problem solved!

same, don't see the ads... i scrolled right before the blue parts. could it be because of my HOSTS file? (filters out all known ad-related urls)

@ GawtMilk The commercial is not above or below the content. It is a separate 15 break in the show.

I read this as "AIDS quietly introduced in Google Video Content", and immediately thought "Viral Advertising!"
