newsweek.com — The ecosystem of political media has changed, with sound bites losing their authority. Consumers of news are less easily manipulated by the 24/7 barrage of bites and images (Hillary Clinton doing whisky shots, Obama bowling), which are dissected endlessly on cable. Voters search for their own context.

this reality also highlights the generational gap. older people will listen to talk radio, and watch MSM, while the younger generation will opt out of traditional MSM outlets. this election will test the younger generation... will we vote?

There is a teutonic shift happening in media consumption, the latest ABC debate proved that people are not going to take the sound byte attacks anymore. I welcome the change, 24 hour news cycles, and tv played to the advantage of the GOP who reduced complex ideas into sound bytes.

Is not Oregon usually a blue state anyway - if that is the case then it really does not matter.

it's different because after you bury the latest empty hillary-bashing as lame, you have the entire rest of the internet to choose from. on t.v., you switch to a different news channel and it's the same old s**t.

Because people can see through her bulls**t regardless? Because a lot of people like Obama more regardless? There are a billion different reasons. Citing one as the root cause like this is silly.

Kudos to you for responding to my post in a thought-provoking manner instead of just burying me. You make a valid point. There really needs to be more people like you in this community.

I am all for getting the word out by any means available. I do wish the Republicans could have stepped forward and been more internet saavy in presenting their messages. It is unfortunate that "We the People" have been taken advantage of by the media and cunning campain managers who swooped in, got their bits and bites in order, used historical context of years gone by to fool todays young and young-at-heart into believing obama was speaking from his heart and not from by-gone speeches and news casts.I am old enough to recall many of his "Chosen" words of glory, hope and change uttered by former US and even foreign leaders... to be honest.. just what has obama said that was HIS OWN THOUGHT.. and not a mish=mash of past verbs, adjectives, and pronouns.. delibertly placed to sound profound and unique...Yes, my fellow Americans.. sit back and watch the wrath of the next four years be a whirlwind of confusion, mixed emotions and possibly more hardship, conflict and disasters than we saw over the past eight years..
