crooksandliars.com — On yesterday?s Adam Carolla radio show, Ann Coulter called in to the show an hour and a half late, then told the host "I am really tight on time."Carolla responded, "All right, well get lost" and then hung up on her mid-sentence.

"We wouldn't have won without your resources. That is true. What isn't good is that you sat around for two years while the world went to s**t and only joined once you personally were attacked. In the mean time. Britain and France and another 8 or so countries went in to support Poland in the first few days Nepal! even joined in after 3 days. If America had joined in early, saw that Germany MIGHT have been a problem, rather than hedging their bets, millions more people could have lived. Is that really something to be proud of?"At the risk of sounding cliche, hindsight is 20-20. It was a lot more complicated than that at the time. There was a lot of isolationist sentiment prior to World War II in the United States. This alone explains a certain amount of resistance to a declaration of war until we ourselves were attacked at Pearl Harbor. England and France are not totally blameless for the state of the war at that point either. There were signs of Germany's militarization long before formal hostilities. Until the invasion of Poland, England and France were heavily-into practicing appeasement. When the Rhineland was reoccupied in 1936, France did not intervene for political reasons while England, well, just sort of accepted it. In March of 1938, Germany annexed Austria and it was widely-thought that the Sudetenland would be next. England and France were both unprepared for a conflict and, despite France's alliance with Czechoslovakia, with the Munich Agreement they basically just let Hitler have it in exchange for his word that there would be peace. Neville Chamberlain returned triumphantly in 1938 and claimed that this was "peace in our time". In 1939 Hitler decided to invade Prague and various other areas, splitting it in two (leaving the east half, Slovakia, to become a pro-Nazi state). September 1, 1939 -- Hitler invades Poland (big surprise). Strangely enough, France and England hesitated and didn't declare war until September 3.Also, you can place quite a bit of blame on the existence of World War II on the Treaty of Versailles. If it hadn't gone to undue lengths to punish and humiliate the Germans after World War I, crippling their economy and greatly contributing to the fall of the Weimar Republic in 1933, the whole shebang may not have happened in the first place. This is, of course, speculation -- we could have instead had a World War II defined by the fight against Communism.I must add to all of this that I don't totally blame those involved for their methods of appeasement. World War I was a horrific war that was still in conscious memory by many of those involved. They likely would have done anything to prevent another one.

Anne Coulter is an attention-starved fundamentalist barbie doll who's had way more than the 15 minutes of fame she deserves.

Adam Corrola would be amused by this:<a class="user" href="http://if**kedanncoulterintheasshard.blogspot.com/">http://if**kedanncoulterintheasshard.blogspot.com/</a>

She's gotta be talking some hyperbole, right? Women have no idea about how money is made? It's not like any of us have jobs...that Coulter guy is a nut. Seriously.

Wow, a non-article about a non-discussion between two people who I despise a lot (Coulter) and quite a bit (Carrola).People should stop paying attention to Coulter. Don't you guys realize you're feeding the beast?! Conservatives, you look like intolerant idiots if you support this woman. Liberals, by getting angry and posting about her, you're giving her the attention that she craves! She NEEDS you to stir up the wingnuts who buy her books. Stop the cycle!Let's all agree to equally ignore firebrands on both sides and we'll all get along much better. (And have more time to play video games or read books)

Good for Adam. F that biatch! You "conservatives" out there that like her are so out of whack! Abe Lincoln would surely be rolling in his grave if he knew what you people were doing to his party. You are indeed traitors to the American way.

I get really sick of all the black-and-white, all or nothing thinking. It is possible, as some have helpfully pointed out, to be conservative and think Ann Coulter and her ilk (i.e. Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, et al) are raving psychopaths. I don't pretend to consider this definitive, but I've been reading Andrew Sullivan's "The Conservative Soul", and it does a lot to illuminate the difference between "traditional" conservatism and the "fundamentalist" variety espoused by Coulter et al. It's an interesting read, and more of it resonated with me than I expected. I think it backs up the point that vinnie40204 is trying to make.

Oh yeah.. and I can't help but chuckle a bit at Adam Carolla's treatment of Coulter. I've never really been a fan of Carolla, but I like watching the self-righteous get a taste of their own s**t every once in a while, what can I say?
