If you beat a game and didn't want to go back and play it, my thoughts are that maybe that game wasn't so great in the depth department. If it takes some bizarre, artificial nerd score to get you to replay a game, maybe it wasn't so great in the first place?

No, they shouldn't copy it. I thought it was funny that the Microsoft guy was all sad that nobody tried to copy them, but still tried to talk himself up like they're all failing miserably without gamerpoints. "I don't know HOW they're going to beat our gamerpoints system without Xbox Live!!!!!!!!" lol, they're not even trying. How typical of Microsoft -- announce themselves the winners in an area where no one else is even trying to compete (i.e. they launched the Xbox 360 first so they announced that they were winning the next-gen war by default... haha).

Yes yes! Let's use anecdotal evidence to prove or disprove something. Watch I can do it to:My brother is absolutely obsessed with raising his score, he rents games just to raise it. Woohoo!

Some games have absurd achievements, though. Gears of War for example. I have no intention of killing 10,000 enemies total, for as long as I own that game. That's about 27 enemies a day. I suck at the game and don't know if I've even killed that many dudes -total-. And I don't even have a life.Overall I like a challenge when it comes to achievements but I'd like them all to be sensible. Knowing I'll never have all of the points for Gears of War will always be disappointing :(

pika, stfu. Your troll comments are spammed all over the thread and it's pretty annoying. Welcome to block.@Wytefang - not necessarily.Take Zelda TP, for instance. I beat it after a week. Have tons of s**t left to do in the game (collect bugs, the heart containers, etc), but.. haven't done so yet. I honestly haven't played it since the beginning of December or so. Doesn't mean it's a bad game. Had there been an achievement system, I'd probably be done with the extras by now. It just extends the play beyond what was normally intended, that's all.No, if a game sucks, I won't play it, and that's that.

@therealrico"Stop playing videos games, go read, excercise, go oustide, get laid, make some money, thats what I plan on doing with my extra time."That and post comments on digg about something you think is "pointless".What is more pointless playing video games or posting comments about playing video games?

@therealrico You must never beat a game. Do us a favor and stop doing "pointless" things like playing video games and commenting about them. You're a douche...My name is Rico and I hate achievement points because I never get any because I suck at video games. WAAAAAAH
