I have 2 Acer LCDs at home and I've bought many Acer LCDs on behalf of people and never had any problems with them. It's a step up from AOC that's for sure!

Great, now Acer can bring failure in the form of bottom-barrel, garbage hardware to open source users in the same way they did to Windows users!

XGL runs ontop of a vanilla X server, and thus is at least twice as slow as native X Windows. It's designed to be a tech demo, not for real use.

I've got an Aspire 5500, and the wireless on/off button is handled perfectly by nm-applet (if a little slow)
