Cool article! BTW, Im testing Windows 7, and I have a ATI 4850 and DXVA can not be enabled this way, maybe because of the drivers. Well, its a beta windows anyway, bu on XP it works just fine ;) .

For me, I get blue screens in DVB VIewer Pro. So I had to use v8.8 DVA files. See my http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?p=13357 ... ...

hey man i know it's kind of late but thanks for the article. I bought a gts250 to give my p5nd2 mobo and pentium 4 system a chance of playing hd content to my HDTV. Using VLC media player i was able to get smooth playback of 720p content but 1080p was too choppy. Now using MPCHC I'm able to play the 1080p flawlessly and filters and virtually no cpu utilization. Thanks again.

Works perfectly on a C2D E6600 with a GTS 250 and Windows 7 Ultimate. Dropped the CPU use right down, except for software decoding of 5.1 DTS, which requires a bit of chewing on the CPU, but all good. Thanks for the great article.
