interplast.org — "A Story of Healing" documents an Interplast volunteer surgical team to An Giang province in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. The film earned the 1997 Academy Award® for best documentary, short subject. 10 years later it is the first Academy Award winning film to be released under a Creative Commons license.

I think Fahrenheit 911 was released under the CCL too. Not that it won an academy award and I'm not making any judgment one way or the other that it should have or not btw.

And how much did it require to come in hot topics among unpublished ones. My story got 21 votes and still not even in hot topics among entertainment ones. And the story is not spam. Its a very important event. Much awaited marriage of former miss world Ashwariya Rai with son of legendary bollywood actor amitabh bacchan.Sry to comment like this but really can't understand why its not yet even placed in hot topics in entertainment. can digg staff/users explain.Link 2 that story is http://digg.com/celebrity/Former_Miss_World_Aishwarya_Rai_to_marry_Abhishek_Bachchan_Today

Yeah! This would have made TONS of money on DVD, but they decided to do this out of the goodness of their hearts. Probably unrelated to the fact that it's basically a PR package for Interplast, which will in turn cause people to donate money to Interplast.I'm not taking away from what they do, but you're a fool if you think this isn't about money. There's just more money to be made in donations (which is a good thing!) than selling a DVD of this short doc.

Glad to see film makers realizing that Creative Commons can help them expand rather than limit them. It is a great way to let your creative ideas have an impact on the world around themScotthttp://www.askthewealthsquad.com/blog/
