I'm going to go with "who cares?" on this one. One thing about the CG industry, they do crap like this for EVERY film. Venture out to Siggraph one year and watch the demo/extra reels from the big animation houses. Some do it for mechanics, geometry & effects testing, other's do it just because this is what they do to blow off steam, oddly enough.
