webstuffscan.com — More and more companies restrict your access to certain websites. Usually it's for a good reason, however if you're pretty tech savvy and not worried about having the website "steamysingles.com" in the log file associated with your system, then this little tip site is for you.

Keep in mind that for those who are behind websense firewalls, websense makes a lock down edition that can monitor any application that you run on your desktop.... In addition, there is monitoring software that I have been asked to use in the past to take snapshots or live recordings of how someone uses their pc.Being a system admin, there is a lot of flexibility in what I can do; however, the ideal solution for me if I where to avoid being spied on would be to use my own personal laptop, my smart phone and pdanet.never trust ANYTHING a company gives you no matter how smart you think you are..

@gabbagabbaheyThat is why he is suggesting running your ssh server on port 443, which is the default port for https traffic. Most companies will allow traffic on this port, or in the case of a proxy, transmit traffic on this port.

Or run things in a Virtual Machine - kind of how that one PoC virus worked. IIRC, it completely avoided detection by today's standard monitoring software.

This is a weak bunch of work-arounds. Websense blocks virtually every single item on the list. #2 and #5 are the only two I can think of that Websense might not handle out of the box. There is only one true way of bypassing a content filter... Telnet to a Unix shell account and use Lynx. Your PC will show a telnet session logged, not a web-site access.
