So I guess the tires and all the plastic on that care are not produced from oil?
How retarded can these eco nazis get?
The Tesla is a cool car, no doubt about it, but it certainly isn't going to "save the planet" or some such bulls**t.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
lukeatronJul 20, 2010
When did any one ever claim that a sports car was going to save the planet? It's pretty much a production prototype for an entire company.
kalliusJul 20, 2010
A ha ha ha! That's so funny! Because a Tesla Roadster costs more than $100,000, putting it permanently out of reach for most people! So the owner mocks people for being dependent on oil for their vehicles because they are not rich enough to afford a Tesla. So funny!

A ha ha ha! That's so true! Because a license plate is a mirror for one's personality, giving someone a flawless and infallible view of everything this person is! So the poster insults the owner for owning a nice car because the poster is jealous and wishes he owned said car! So true!

Get over it. If you're seriously offended by this, you've got problems.

Why does "lol oil" have to be directed at the poor schmucks still using it? I interpreted it as a "f**k you" to big oil on behalf of all of us. He's celebrating the beginning of a mass-production vehicle that will lessen our dependence on oil.
Quite the ego to think he gives a s**t about you being broke.

What a waste of money for such a piece of s**t. Save your +100k and buy a real car. Spend a few k more and you can have an R8

@Hershey - I'm in software, but that's as specific as I'm comfortable with :)

AC to DC conversions happens with electronics. These electronics create a small amount off energy loss. Efficiency is still quite high (80-97%). So it is slightly higher than the losses created by a wire.

last week i saw a mustang license plate with "MPG LOL"
stininjaJul 21, 2010
I've seen this guy, he lives in Laguna Beach, incase you guys wanted to steal his car and go to mexi.... nevermind, it won't go that far.

The other day I saw an SUV with the license plate "Tax This" and thought it was funny because the guy is paying something that basically equals a tax to have that plate.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
atomheartmotherJul 21, 2010
Hahahaha... No, you thought it was funny because you're not very bright. Opting for a more expensive tag may equate to the state getting more revenue, but since it's voluntary it doesn't "basically equals a tax." Unless of course you're an Obama appointee (and I certainly think you're qualified)... then paying taxes is pretty much voluntary, it seems.
janineeeJul 22, 2010
my god you are stupid. Just go away. So it's not a tax because it is voluntary? So is buying fast food, so I guess if they increase the uhhhhh extra pay for fast food it's not a tax because buying fast food is voluntary, right? Hell, then no tax on food is really a tax because technically you could just grow your own, right?
You are paying the government to say f**k you to the government for making you pay them. Only you and the idiot in the SUV would find that logical atom.

"So it's not a tax because it is voluntary? "
Exactly. Is that such a tough concept for you to grasp?
"Hell, then no tax on food is really a tax because technically you could just grow your own, right?"
No, that's a different issue, and frankly, a ridiculous analogy. There is a tax on license plates which is unavoidable- the state requires plates if you drive on a public road. Unlike choosing to pay extra to have a vanity plate, it's mandatory.
"To tax (from the Latin taxo; "I estimate", which in turn is from tangÅ; "I touch") is to impose a financial charge or other levy upon a taxpayer (an individual or legal entity) by a state or the functional equivalent of a state such that failure to pay is punishable by law."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax
See the part that says "such that failure to pay is punishable by law."? That means it's not voluntary, say like deciding to pay extra for a vanity plate.
You'd need a promotion to be a moron Jainneee. Seriously.
