I think I can... I think I can... I think I can... I think I can... But seriously, this is a tad ridiculous. It's nice that they're putting something there (I wouldn't be surprised if very tight quarters to fit a ramp in) even if a good chunk of people still can't use it. Handicap access ramps aren't just for wheelchair users -- and able bodied ones at that. I don't know how people in canes and walkers are supposed to use it, or frail bodied wheelchair users. Heck, even able-bodied or powered chairs probably won't be able to get up: they'd just fall backwards going up. My girlfriend (yes, digg-down, inaccurate, etc.) is in a chair, and she has trouble even have a laptop & textbooks hung on the back of her chair tipping her backwards on lightly inclined ramps.I suppose when you think about it, the ramp is unintentionally flipping off the handicapped.
Buy Dean Kamen's new wheelchair that will let you stand and climb stairs. This would be no problem to it. The AWD act is old fashioned, more an equalizer for archaic wheeled chairs than people who have to use them. Just look at how badly engineered old 1940's and older chairs were. Imagine if we were legally stuck to maintain utility for that tech level. Nothing better would ever be made. Stop adapting the world to accomodate the man and get back to adapting the man to handle the world. Also would it be so bad to help someone in a chair with this ramp? The vanity of self sufficiency only goes so far before it turns into a sin of pride. If this is in Mexico, maybe the culture accounts for this. Maybe they expect a relative or friend to walk in with the cripple and actually *shocking* help them instead of ignoring them or pretending that they are not different. Maybe their sense of religion and decency would consider it "a good deed" to lend a hand.

That ramp will be amazing after you've had a few and need some light entertainment... watching people trying to get in, and people FLYING out hehe
