Magicians have been using poor human random number generation in their illusions for a while now. I heard 37 is the most common 'random' number, so I'm not surprised many of you have picked it. You'll probably see a negative corrolation between the number of factors and how often it is picked (amongst those who picked integers). If you were to demand the number be even, then 68 and 86 are supposed to be common choices.There are various techniques you can use to influence the numbers people will pick, without their being aware of it. For example, if i were to say, "1 2 3 4 think of a number", then many people would pick 5 since it's next in the sequence and at the front of their mind. There are much more subtle ways than this though.
Having read through all the comments, noone else seems to have chosen 83 :(I always automatically avoid 7-numbers when asked to choose a random number, 83 was the first thought.
