gizmodo.com — Step aside Nintendo, Emotiv's got dibs on the ultimate game controller right here with their Project Epoc. It's basically a headset fitted with a bunch of sensors that "read" your mind and let you control video games (be it from your console or PC) via your thoughts. It'll be demoed at the Game Developer's Conference next week.

Technically it is the same thing right? All your hands are doing is what your brain tells them to do. It's not like this is going to help you react any faster than you already do.

This technology does work, it has been used by disabled people to communicate by controlling a computer mouse (see http://www.brainfingers.com/) I have tried it myself. It reads the electrical impulses created by twitching the muscles in the corner of your eyes and eyebrows. You have to train yourself to use it, and by practicing you get better and better so you use your muscles less, and eventually get to the point where you're thinking about moving a muscle, but not actually doing it, and the electrical impulses are still there for the device to read. Basically it is reading the imulses created by thinking about moving your muscles. It's pretty cool watch the video clip on the website that was on discovery.

they tried this back in 1995, I got to play a Skiing game on it. It really sucked balls. I hope they have improved on it.... because if it worked well it would be awesome.
