The biggest problem with latency in regards to video games has always been the end users connection. Unless this fiber is going straight into homes (which it won't), this is no different than what's already offered in forms of connectivity. There's also not enough dark fiber lying around to do this at a reasonable price, and there's no game company in the world that can afford to lay their own network just for gaming. (Hell even Microsoft couldnt' do it with XBox Live network, i believe that's contracted out to level 3).This is someone finding another way to take advantadge of games (see KillerNic or whatever that gimicky NIC was)

If net nutrality were enacted, we wouln't NEED this service. so, i suppose that having to pay 15 bucks a month for better gaming is exactly what we were afraid of in the first place. on the plus side, were paying a third party, not the isp. but they are paying the isp, so i suppose it's just as bad.well, considering i'm a customer of a tier 1 isp, and live in boston, it's a moot point anyhow.

Has GameRail outlined its pitch to GSPs? I'm curious how many hosting providers they've spoken with, and what they're saying about how the business model will work. What's the carrot for GSPs here?

@drakethegreat$10 /mo isn't that bad, many pay $15 /mo for Wold of Warcraft with 150 ping servers that are down 1/4 of the time..
