"If WWIII were to start and every organism except one single-celled organism died, we would have to start at the beginning of evolution again. It would be a cycle, but it would seem to be a straight line to a 3rd-dimensional creature."I don't think you could call that a cycle. A cycle would mean coming back to the exact same spot, with the Earth as it was back then, not millions of years old as it is now. The only way WWIII could create a cycle would be if somebody invented some sort of ultimate super weapon that threw the universe back several billion years. The other problem with referring to infinite realities is this:If every possibility is played out in it's own reality, there must be a reality where someone has created a super weapon that destroys all the realities. And they must have done it ages ago. Since we are all still here, they cannot have done that, therefore there cannot be infinite realities. A very large number, perhaps, but by no means infinite.
You do have one in 5 dimensions, though. If you have no shot, you made a mistake positioning the cue after an earlier shot, so you just need to slide into another timeline where you didn't screw up. At the same time you could choose a reality where you're playing Jeanette Lee.
This makes me feel very very very small. Like those things that show you your scale to the universe. Now it is the scale of my universe being small. Bastards!
...Ow... My brain... o_< Where's the reboot button? That was too much information too fast. I think I'm getting a headache. But still, that was really interesting, and quite well described. I think I might just look into a bit further... once my head stops hurting... /dugg
