I always hoped Apple would grow in this direction, but do they really have to turn into a Granny instantly?
gropoMay 2, 2007
Absolutely. Greenpeace has been capitalizing on the fact that Mac users are more 'green' on average and issuing highly slanted charges. Extremists of every flavor under the Sun have one thing in common:"LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME LISTEN TO MY CAUSE"Wether it be Islamic terrorists, Christian anti-gay bigots, animal rights activists or environmentalists.

As far as I know, none of the companies listed in GreenPeace's propoganda have actually eliminated the materials they're speaking of, just made a commitment to do so by some future time. Considering that PCs make up 95% of the world's computers (as so many are fond of reminding Mac users), who's really responcible for most of the waste? Before you BIYers start up, most people don't upgrade their machines. They use them until they're not fit for most anything and then dump them. Mac users typically keep their computers longer. OS X 10.4 runs quite nicely on machines 5 years old or older. Plus because they have in the past been so much more expensive (again as you like to remind us even though that isn't true anymore), we can't afford to replace them as often as the typical $299 crapbox.

Greenpeace is like any other business run by people without scruples or ethics. They care nothing about the environment, just the bottom line. The fact is that Apple was founded by two hippies. You can't get greener than that. Apple's track record proves this.

To you who hate green peace:You probably have done no reading whatsoever of what work they are doing. They are an important party in many debates where they are pushing for a better environment. Do some reading and then come and say what you think they are doing wrong.

Glad this is unlike all the other PR s**t coming from other companies where the CEOs send for someone else to announce the company's green movement.

Awesome how Apple isn't letting the tards not checking there homework get them down.

I Think This Is One Of The Reasons Why Apple Is Simply The Best.

Well LED's are also good on power consumption. If Apple was really serious about the environment then all of their CT stores would run on the wind energy that is available through the grid to all CL&P customers. This is just an example, but saying that we have fluorescent lights, which is the commentary I was given when I asked about this, doesn't cut it. Electronics stores inhale power, Apple or no, then again they do say greener so I guess they don't really intend to be green. Plus the manufacturing of computers in general is very toxic. Remember that Apple manufacturers their computers in many of the same places that other computer companies do and do we really know how those people are being treated?

I really appreciate that

Even in a country like Nepal, apple products are increasingly getting popular among the youth, long after the death of Jobs. Rest in Peace Jobs!
