omg..can these things make people any more lazier? what happened to playing sports and stuff? i think video games can be fun but people get too addicted
It's gonna be a while before this thing has any practical use cause I'm guessing all games would have to support the device, specially with detecting emotions. Then again if you could map the emotions/facial expressions into button presses, like smile to fire your gun, that would be cool. I'm not buying that it could detect what I'm thinking about even if it does detect brain impulses. Every brain is different and I don't think it could guess that accurately. I would really like to try that out though.
A bit late on this but I think you're wrong. It will all be on how well it can pick up on brainwaves...how 'hard' you have to think about a particular action. From the article it seems it will be limited to a set number of 'commands'...I bet you'll be able to do a lot more with it than at first glance...people are good and coming up unique uses for such things.. (QueCat anyone? :3 ) I doubt games will have to be custom built for it and it will work like any other game controller as far as the game/OS is concerned. It's first generation tech so it's likely that it will be neat..but end up just a taste of what is coming down the line and one of those things that are just too flakey to rely on for serious gaming. I'd buy one, if just to play with it and see how well it works.

"the 360 would red ring of death and explode."Yeah, I don't think this device has any effect on the 360 at all - I don't think it's compatible.
