newlaunches.com — Unlike traditional helicopters the GEN H-4 has 2 sets of coaxial, contra-rotating rotors (like a KA-52 Hokum) which eliminates the need of a tail rotor for balancing. It is powered by 4 lightweight 125cc 2 cylinder engines which use standard gasoline. It can fly to an altitude of 1000 meters at a top speed of 59 mph for up to 30 minutes.

You'd have to be nuts to get in the air on that thing. Your certain death is just a mechanical malfunction away. Heck the land Segway was recalled for battery problems.

Yeah man. But seriously you know want one. Honestly I would prefer this over a car anyday.

This kind of helicopter has been around for a long time. Here's a WWII era version: <a class="user" href="http://www.luftarchiv.de/index.htm?http://www.luftarchiv.de/hubschrauber/baum.htm">http://www.luftarchiv.de/index.htm?http://www.luftarchiv.de/hubschrauber/baum.htm</a>

how about giant air-bags? computer stabilization like a segway, and when you plummet some big-ass airbags pop out and you bounce, hopefully. unless you have total electrical failure, or you run into some power-lines or get hit by lightning, or spill your beer on the controls.

Yeah, they'll probably do about as much damage as a large bird: go splat on the plate glass and slide down the side of the building, or maybe, God forbid, they might shatter a window and get glass shards all over an empty conference room.

Hardly news, wasn't this on rocketboom back in January? I remember bokmarking this site some time ago:<a class="user" href="http://www.gen-corp.jp/GENH-4_en/index.htm">http://www.gen-corp.jp/GENH-4_en/index.htm</a>

This is so cool, but I saw this alongtime ago from someone else, but anyway it is cool & I do not care how un cool people say this would look flying, so what as long as I am doing this (007-Sh**) . The prive is crazy, but I know Make Magazine will eventually reverse engineer it and probably make it for around a thousand or so dollars, so just wait and we all can by one. Just like the segway, I was not going to pay that crazy price for that, so I went online and founf a nock-off and I do not care about what ever as long as I got one it all that I was conecrned about and the same with this thing. The motor & blades looks like it was cheap as heck, it sorta loks like the same blades from a (UAV), but only a thought. Love the Idea & coolness, but the price is not loved.
